What happens next? Reading group in English
Dedicated to literature in English, the reading group meets in the Biblioteca Civica once a month.
The aim of the reading group is to introduce participants to some new books, to revisit some classic texts, and to practise talking in English about English literature, in a friendly and encouraging environment. Each event will focus on a different genre of English literature. A selection of books and stories will be chosen which are interesting, even controversial, but most importantly, books which are fun to talk about. Before each encounter participants will receive the texts and some points to consider in preparation for talking about the stories.
The discussions will be hosted by Jon Shave. Jon was born in Bury St Edmunds, a small town in the east of England. He studied English literature at Goldsmiths, University of London. He loves to organise friendly discussions in which people can share their thoughts and opinions on stories in English.
Participants require a knowledge of the language at the intermediate level or higher, curiosity about books and stories and the desire to get involved.
Limited to 15 spaces, please book early to avoid disappointment.
